DECATUR, Ga. - Agnes Scott College head cross country coach Mary (Chind) White announced that she will be resigning at the end of May to pursue other professional opportunities and to spend more time with her family.
“Mary has been an integral part of the athletic department and provided great leadership as we re-launched the women’s cross country team this year. We appreciate the hard work that she has put in and wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors,” stated interim athletic director Beth Vansant.
White started and ended her career at Agnes Scott as the women’s cross country coach, leading them to a first place finish at the 2007 Great South Athletic Conference Championships and re-launching the program in the fall of 2014 after the team was eliminated from the varsity lineup in 2008. White also served as the Event Coordinator and Sports Information Director for many years with short stints as the Aquatics Director and Compliance Coordinator.
“It has been a privilege to work with the young women at Agnes Scott College, to see the growth that has happened in the athletic department over the past seven or eight years, and to see the potential for future of the cross country team” commented White.
A search for the next cross country coach will begin immediately.
