Agnes Scott Athletics Announces New Roles

DECATUR, Ga. - Agnes Scott College Athletic Director Beth Vansant announced the following changes to the department, effective April 1, 2017:

Allison Kern is leaving the helm of the Agnes Scott basketball program and has been named the Assistant Athletic Director for Camps and External Relations.  This new role will spearhead fundraising, summer camps, and community relations with the goal of enhancing the College's athletic presence. Prior to Agnes Scott, she served as Head Women's Basketball Coach at Misericordia University, where she was instrumental in growing both the recruiting and brand footprints of the program. Allison was involved in several major campaign projects while at MU. Prior to her head coaching posts, she served as the assistant basketball coach at both William Smith College and Hiram College. During her time at these institutions,  she coordinated NCAA postseason tournament host sites for multiple sports. She was directly engaged in building alumnae relations and creating donor opportunities.

Additionally, the athletic department has named Albie Biggs the new head coach of the Scottie Basketball Program. Coach Biggs spent this past season serving as the assistant to Allison Kern. Biggs came to ASC from Misericordia University, where he had been the assistant coach for women's basketball since 2005, the last four years also under Kern. At Misericordia, Coach Biggs was part of the 2012 MAC Championship team. He recruited and coached three Conference Player of the Year award winners, the school's all-time leader in scoring and rebounding, and many additional record holders. In addition, Biggs was part of the 2012 MAC Freedom Coaching Staff of the Year.
