DECATUR, Ga.—The Agnes Scott College Athletic Department and Athletic Director Beth Vansant announce the hiring of Josh Cornwall as the new Coordinator for Athletic Communications and Game Management for the 2017-2018 academic year, effective July 1.
He will serve as the primary media contact for all six Scottie programs as well as oversee other communications efforts for the department.
"We are excited to welcome Josh to our growing team at Agnes Scott," said Assistant Athletic Director Allison Kern. "His experience in the field and commitment to enhancing the exposure of our Student Athletes will make an immediate impact in our department. It was evident during the interview process that Josh is a great fit for what we're building here."
Cornwall comes to the Atlanta area after spending the previous four years as Sports Information Director at his alma mater, Gordon College, in Wenham, Massachusetts. An East Berlin, Connecticut native, Cornwall was responsible for the day-to-day communications for Gordon's 18 varsity programs, ranging from game recaps to social media content creation. He was also a driving force behind the department's ability to generate live video and statistical content for all home contests.
A 2010 graduate of Gordon with a degree in Communication Arts, Cornwall is no stranger to Division III athletics after playing four years for the Fighting Scots tennis program, serving as a captain for one season.
Cornwall also has stops at ESPN as a statistical analyst and as a graduate assistant at Belhaven University in Jackson, Mississippi, where he earned his Master's of Business Administration and Sport Administration.
"I am both thrilled and grateful to become a part of the Agnes Scott community," said Cornwall. "It became apparent during the process that Agnes Scott was committed to an investment in athletics as a vehicle for personal development in the lives of student-athletes. I am excited to be a part of that vision."
