Davis Promoted to Associate Director of Athletics

DECATUR, Ga.—Agnes Scott Athletics is pleased to announce the promotion to associate director of athletics for Rosemary Davis. She served as the assistant athletics director for compliance and student-athlete success during the 2017-18 school year.

"Rosemary Davis is a talented leader within the Athletics department, who has successfully managed, led, and supported a relatively new coaching staff towards a year of significant accomplishments in both recruiting and coaching," exclaimed Karen Goff, vice president for student affairs. "Her detailed and systematic approach has resulted in improved administrative practices within the department and full compliance with the NCAA."

After overseeing Agnes Scott's soccer program for four seasons, Coach Davis transitioned smoothly in her role of managing the department's coaching staff, ensuring NCAA compliance, and monitoring student-athlete success.

The longest-serving Scottie in the Athletics department, she was the catalyst for the launching of a leadership program specifically for student-athletes during the 2017-18 academic year that will continue to be integral in the development of all student-athletes as part of the institution's SUMMIT experience.   Rosie will continue to collaborate with several other campus constituencies, to facilitate student-athlete success, both inside and outside the classroom.

Davis' oversight in creating a positive environment for a freshly picked coaching staff paid dividends during her one year as the assistant director, a culture she will continue to foster moving forward.

Davis was a four-year starter and letter-winner at Kenyon College (Ohio) as a goalkeeper for the soccer program. She parlayed the experience into an extensive coaching career that spanned from her alma mater to Cornell University (N.Y.). The Decatur-native had spent several seasons as the assistant for the Scotties before taking over the program in 2013 until 2016.

"Davis is a strong advocate for student-athlete success, she continuously seeks out opportunities to build collaborative partnerships across campus to meet and respond to the needs of our student-athletes.  She remains a vital and integral leader within the Athletics department and undoubtedly will be instrumental in building a robust and competitive Agnes Scott athletic program," finished Goff.
