Agnes Scott (10-27) earned their bid after pulling off back-to-back-to-back upsets in the Great South Athletic Conference tournament. Entering the tournament with a 7-27 record, including a 2-6 mark in GSAC play, the Scotties opened with a win over 2nd-seeded Wesleyan College, then knocked off top-seeded Salem College, before dominating Wesleyan again in the final.
