TYLER, Texas - Agnes Scott College saw their surprise postseason come to an end with a 9-0 loss to the #5 ranked Texas Lutheran Bulldogs (42-4) in the elimination game at the NCAA Regional hosted by Texas-Tyler. With the loss, the Scotties (10-29) end a season that saw them fight from the #3 seed in the Great South Athletic Conference tournament to reach the NCAAs for the second time in history, having achieved the same feat in 2014 under head coach Talya DiGirolamo.
The Scotties struggled for the second day with their offense, managing only one hit, as Jordyn Portis broke a 6 inning hitless stretch for the Scotties, as she laced a single down third base line in the 2nd inning.
The team, which was comprised of 13 first-years and 2 sophomores, gained valuable experience against some of the best teams in the nation, as they transition into the USA South Conference next season. The team was reflective on the lessons learned at the tournament, as the players discussed how they will use this experience to improve in the future and return to win some games in the future at this level.
