LAGRANGE, Ga. - The Agnes Scott College basketball team suffered its first loss of the season this afternoon, falling to LaGrange College on the road by a score of 62-39. The Scotties offense was held in check by the Panthers (1-1), who held the Scotties to 26% shooting in the contest and forced 29 turnovers.
For the Scotties, the talented first-year class led the way for the second straight game, with Lauren Alexander scoring 11 points off the bench in her first game of the season. She was joined by classmate Jalexis Teemer with 10, and Kisha Simpson tallying 8 points and 10 rebounds, leading all players off the glass.
Foul trouble would haunt the Scotties throughout the game, as starters Teemer and Miranda Arnold both picked up two quick fouls in the first half. Teemer would foul out with 8 minutes to play in the game. In total, the Scotties would have three players foul out of the game and commit 25 fouls.
The Scotties will return to action on Thursday, November 20, when they travel across town to face off with Oglethorpe University at 7:00 p.m.
