BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Agnes Scott College basketball team suffered its fourth straight loss with a 76-36 road loss to red-hot Birmingham Southern College (4-2), who have won four of their last five.
The Scotties (1-4), who were playing for the first time since the November 22 matchup against Birmingham Southern in which they lost by four, played without starters Laniqua Collins and Care Bacon, who were both out with injuries, as well as three other players hampered by injury. Seven players saw action for the Scotties, and three of the starters played the entire 40 minutes.
"It was tough tonight, because we competed hard against this team 10 days ago," commented head coach Trish Roberts. "Hopefully we will be back to full strength again soon, and can get back on track."
Kisha Simpson continued her assault on the glass, pulling down 16 rebounds for the Scotties, raising her season average to 12.4 rebounds per game. She is currently in the Top 50 players in the nation in rebounds, and fourth amongst freshmen nationwide. Shavonne Orr led the Scotties with 8 points, while Simpson, Grace Keheley and Jalexis Teemer each had 7.
The Scotties will return to action at home on Saturday, December 6, when they take on Covenant College in a 2:00 p.m. matchup. Admission is free to the public.
