Scotties Fall on Senior Day, 68-46

DECATUR, Ga. - Senior Shavonne Orr led her team with 14 points, but it was not enough to overcome the strong play of Great South Athletic Conference defending-champion Salem College, as the Scotties fell, 68-46.

The Scotties (6-13, 2-2 GSAC) trailed early in the game, 14-8, before a 4-point play by Adriana Figueroa, and a layup by Orr would bring the Scotties even at 14 apiece.  The Spirits (7-11, 3-0 GSAC) would respond with a 7-point run of their own, and the Scotties would get no closer than 5 points for the remainder of the game.

The Spirits were led by Quntashea Lewis, who led all all players with 23 points and 12 rebounds.  Mikayla Seivers would chip in with 13 points and 5 assists for the Spirits.  In addition to Orr's 14 points, Brittaney Howard bucketed 11 points, and Care Bacon led the Scotties on the boards with 10 boards.  Overall the Spirits outrebounded the Scotties, 58-38.

The Scotties will await word on their seeding for the GSAC Conference Tournament, which will begin on Friday, February 27 on the Agnes Scott campus.

Senior Shavonne Orr scored 14 points and hauled in 9 rebounds in her final regular-season game as a Scottie.
