MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Agnes Scott College basketball team fell to 0-2 to begin their season this weekend, falling in the second contest of the weekend at the Lady Hawk Invitational, hosted by Huntingdon College. The Lady Hakws (2-0) used a strong second half to come from behind and nip the Scotties, 61-51.
The Scotties, who led by 10 points at halftime and by as many as 15 in the first half, were led for the second consecutive game by sophomores Laniqua Collins and Kisha Simpson. Collins led the Scotties with 17 points while hauling in 7 rebounds. Simpson had a double-double, garnering 12 points and 12 rebounds. Also registering in double figures for the Scotties was sophomore Jalexis Teemer, who pitched in with 11 points and 4 assists.
The Scotties will return to action next weekend as they travel to the Jackie Ammons Tournament, hosted by William Peace University, in Raleigh, N.C. The Scotties open the tournament on Friday, November 20, when they face off with Mid-Atlantic Christian at 6:00 p.m.
