Grant Sweeps USA South Honors

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The USA South Athletic Conference, for the second time this season, recognized Scottie forward Garis Grant for her performance on the court. Grant swept both awards this week for the USA South, being named the women's basketball Player of the Week, as well as the Rookie of the Week for the second time this season.

The Charleston, South Carolina first year forward averaged a double-double of 25.3 points and 18.7 rebounds to go along with 2.7 blocks per game in a 1-2 week versus USA South competition. Grant tallied double-double in each of the three contests. In a 65-50 victory over Wesleyan, Grant totaled 19 points, a career-high and single-game program-record 24 rebounds and one block. In a 65-61 loss to Salem, Grant notched a career-high 33 points with 19 rebounds, two assists and one block.
