DECATUR, Ga. - Agnes Scott had their best shooting night of the season, and Natasha Banks scored a career-high 13 points, but it wasn't enough to overcome the stingy defense of Maryville (14-3, 6-0 USA South), as they forced 28 turnovers in a 72-41 win over the Scotties (2-10, 1-5 USA South).
Maryville relied on the long ball offensively, as they drained 12 three-pointers on the evening, led by Haley Talbott and Madison Maples, who each had 4 threes in the game. As a team, the Scots shot 12-for-31 from long distance.
Agnes Scott was led in scoring by Garis Grant, who led the team with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 3 blocks. Banks' career night was highlighted by three baskets from behind the arc as well. As a team, the Scotties shot 44.7% from the field, a season-high.
The Scotties will try to rebound tomorrow afternoon, as they take on Covenant College in a 4:00 p.m. contest on the campus of Agnes Scott.
