DECATUR, Ga. - Agnes Scott basketball fell at home to conference rival, Covenant College, 80-58, on Saturday. Three Scotties scored in double figures for the Scotties, but sharpshooting from long distance from the Lady Scots (8-8, 2-4 USA South) was too much to overcome.
Emma Grimes had 26 points and 7 assists for Covenant, as they won their second conference game in as many days. Grimes scored 24 of her 26 points on three-pointers, going 8-for-13 from long distance. For the Scotties (2-11, 1-6 USA South), Garis Grant once again led the way in scoring with 19 points, and the duo of Adriana Figueroa and Natasha Banks showed that the Scotties had some long-range threats of their own, as they combined to make 8 three-pointers as well, as they both finished with 12 points.
The Scotties will have a week off before beginning the second half of USA South play, as they host Salem College on January 28 at 2:00 p.m.
