GAINESVILLE, Ga.—Brenau stormed out to a big lead in the first quarter en route to a 77-37 win over Agnes Scott on Thursday evening. The Scotties received a big night from sophomore Garis Grant (Charleston, S.C.), but could not overcome the early hole.
Grant led the Scotties with 18 points in just 24 minutes, while also adding five rebounds and two blocks. The forward entered the day sixth in Division III in blocks. Jahmeelah Nash-Fuller (New York, N.Y.) paced the rebounding effort with seven, while also adding six points for the visitors.
Agnes settled into the game after a 36-4 first quarter for Brenau.
The Tigers shot over 50 percent in the first half, helping them build up the big advantage. Autumn Dodson led the home team with 20.
Agnes (2-13) returns home next Tuesday to host Piedmont at 6:30 p.m.
