WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The #2 seeded Agnes Scott College soccer team scored early and often to overwhelm #7 Trinity (D.C.) in the first round of the Great South Athletic Conference tournament, advancing to the semifinals with a 6-0 win.
The Scottie offense exploded for five first-half goals, with Courtney Moite, Morgan Hoel, Maddie Shaul, Erin Innis and Helene Somda all finding the net for the Scotties (7-9). Shaul would tack on an additional goal in the second half for the final total.
The Scotties advance to a semifinal matchup with #3 Wesleyan (Ga.), whom they have defeated twice this season. Wesleyan knocked off #6 Finlandia by a score of 8-0. Game time is set for 3:00 PM on the campus of host and #1 seed, Salem College. The hosts will face off with #4 Maine-Presque Isle, who downed Mills College, 1-0.
First Year Erin Innis scored her first goal of the season in the 6-0 win today.
