Coach Davis Announces 2016 Recruiting Class

DECATUR, Ga. - Head Coach Rosemary Davis and the Agnes Scott College soccer program recently announced their incoming class of First Years, who are expected to make an immediate impact for the Scotties as they enter their first year of play in the USA South Athletic Conference.

"Each year we become more competitive and increase the depth of our lineup," commented Coach Davis.  "This year is no exception, and I am thrilled with the players we have coming in to add to our experienced returners from a year ago."

The following players have enrolled at Agnes Scott for the Fall of 2016 and will be members of the soccer program:

Frances Wyatt (Atlanta, Georgia / Paideia) - Wyatt joins the Scotties from nearby Paideia, where she was a standout in the midfield.  She was the Paideia soccer team's Most Valuable Player, and will add needed depth in the midfield for Agnes Scott.

Nia Coates (Savannah, Georgia / Savannah Arts Academy) - Coates will come to Agnes Scott having amassed a wide array of achievements in soccer.  The forward was named to the First Team All-Region team three times in high school, as well as leading her region with 22 goals in her junior season.  She was also twice selected to the Coastal Empire All Star Soccer Game, and was captain of her high school team.

Brea Hill (Lithonia, Georgia / Arabia Mountain) - Hill, who captained Arabia Mountain High School's team this past season, was named the team's MVP for the 2015-16 season.  Playing defense and midfield, Hill scored 4 goals and set up her teammates with 12 assists on the season. She was also named to the All-Star team.

Kate Ellis (Brevard, North Carolina / Brevard) - Ellis comes to the Scotties after having a successful career playing a variety of positions for Brevard.  Both a field player and a goalkeeper in high school, Ellis will be a versatile player who could be used in a variety of roles.

Jasmine Young (Albany, Georgia / Westover Comprehensive) - Young has achieved great success in the junior ranks in soccer, having been named to the First Team All-Region in 2014, 2015, and again in 2016.  She was also her school's offensive player of the year and MVP in 2016. She amassed 37 goals in 2016.

Indiana Ravenhill (Napa, California / Miss Halls School) - A midfielder and defender, Ravenhill was a two-year captain for her high school program, and named to the All-Star team in her junior season. 

Diana Ward (Rome, Georgia / Rome) - A goalkeeper from Rome High School, Ward has posted several shutouts in club soccer, including three shutouts at the Atlanta Cup, as well as two shutouts during the Coosa Valley Clash Tournament.

Coach Davis and the Scotties open their season on September 1, as they host Oglethorpe University at 4:30 p.m. on the campus of Agnes Scott College.  As with all home contests, live stats will be available on the Agnes Scott College Athletics website.
