LAGRANGE, Ga. - The Agnes Scott College soccer team ended their first weekend of USA South play with a 1-1 tie against LaGrange College on Sunday. The teams traded goals in regulation, before two overtime periods produced no goals for either team.
In the first half of play, the Scotties (3-1-1, 1-0-1 USA South) struck first, as Sarah Fisher scored on a corner kick in the 27th minute. The Scotties would hold that lead until the 72nd minute, when Taylor Poole of the Panthers (1-4-2, 0-1-1 USA South) broke away from the Scottie defense and scored to even things up at 1-1.
Iara Moran would go the distance in goal for the Scotties, allowing only the one goal in 110 minutes of play. For the weekend, Moran would play 200 minutes and allow that single goal. Against LaGrange, she had 6 saves.
The Scotties continue USA South play when they face off with former Great South Athletic Conference foe, Wesleyan College, on Wednesday at home. The match is set to get underway at 4:00 p.m. and Live Stats will be available on the Agnes Scott College Athletics website.
