Salem Tops Scotties, 4-1

DECATUR, Ga. - For the second time this season, Salem College was able to put together an impressive offensive display, as they rolled to a 4-1 win over Agnes Scott in USA South women's soccer action. The Spirits (11-1-1, 7-1-1 USA South) were led by Brooke Bukas, who had a goal and two assists.

For the Scotties (4-6-1, 2-5-1 USA South), who were outshot, 34-7, goalkeeper Iara Moran made 12 saves in the loss. The game remained close throughout the first half, with the Spirits scoring in the 3rd minute for the only goal of the half. In the second half, they once again scored with only three minutes elapsed, and added two more insurance goals before sophomore forward Zoey Perchaluk scored her second goal of the season as she weaved through the Salem defense and scored over the goalkeeper to ruin the shutout.

The Scotties will return to action on Sunday as they face off wth Piedmont College at home at 1:00 p.m.
