DECATUR, Ga. - Agnes Scott soccer had to go into overtime, but they emerged victorious for the second straight game, taking out Huntingdon, 1-0, as they look to end the regular season on a hot streak before competing in the USA South Conference Tournament beginning next week.
After a scoreless regulation that saw the Scotties fire 17 shots at the goal, only to see Leah Leach save every shot on goal. In the first overtime, the Scotties took the first possession down the field, as Zoey Perchaluk weaved through the Hawks' defense, finding Ashlyn Edwards with a perfect cross that the sophomore striker ripped into the bottom left corner of the goal as the sideline erupted in celebration just 27 seconds into overtime.
During halftime, the team honored their three graduating players on Senior Day. Catherine Pratt, Sarah Fisher and Ivy MacIntyre were all recognized for their contributions to the program, as each started the game for the Scotties, including a ceremonial start for MacIntyre, who has been sidelined this season after a torn ACL last spring.
Goalkeeper Iara Moran scored her 6th win in goal, saving all 6 shots that were on target from the Hawks (3-10-3, 2-9-2 USA South). The Scotties (6-9-1, 4-8-1 USA South) close out their regular season on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. as they host LaGrange College.
