Scotties Finish Regular Season With Dramatic 2-1 Win

DECATUR, Ga. - Agnes Scott soccer finished off their regular season in style, winning their final three contests after taking down LaGrange College, 2-1. The Scotties (7-9-1, 5-8-1 USA South) clinch the #5 seed in the West Division of the USA South Conference Tournament, and will travel to #4 Maryville on Wednesday for a first-round contest.

After a scoreless first half which saw several opportunities for the Scotties fall by the wayside, sophomore Zoey Perchaluk scored off of a pass from senior Sarah Fisher in the 58th minute to put the Scotties ahead, 1-0.  The Panthers (2-14-4, 0-11-3) would strike back as Taylor Poole scored for the visitors in the 67th minute to level the score. The Scotties, who would outshoot the Panthers, 27-5 in the contest, finally found the back of the goal once again in the 84th minute, as junior Erin Innis took a pass from Fisher and drove it past the Panther goalkeeper to give the Scotties the 2-1 victory.

The first-round USA South contest against Maryville will take place at 6:00 p.m. EST on the Marvyille College campus. Live stats will be available for the contest.
