Spirits Down Scotties with First-Half Surge

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.—The tough early-season schedule for Agnes Scott continued on Friday as former GSAC rival Salem defended its home turf with a 5-0 win. The Spirits scored five times before the end of the first half to put the Scotties in a whole they were not able to climb back from.

Agnes Scott sees its record dip to 0-3 on the season, as the Scotties were kept out of the back of the net for the first time in 2017.

Salem's Jordan Lanier scored a hat-trick in the game, while Brooke Bukas distributed two assists to pace the Spirits' attack. The Spirits also held a 12-3 advantage in shots on goal.

The Scotties have a quick turnaround as they square off with Eastern Mennonite tomorrow afternoon a 4 p.m., hosted by Salem.
