Early Second Half Hurts Scotties on the Road
BREVARD, N.C.—A game that was even throughout turned in a matter of a few minutes at the beginning of the second half as Brevard used four second-half goals to down the Scotties on Saturday. The Tornados took the season series with the Scotties after beating them 2-0 in the first meeting in Decatur two weeks ago.

Agnes Scott falls to 1-10-1, while Brevard moves up to 7-4 in its first season in the USA South. The Scotties remain at 1-2 in the conference as Brevard does not become a full member until 2019.

The Scotties are scheduled to play Maryville this afternoon, pending weather. The Scots are currently tied atop the West Division at 3-0 and sport a 10-2-1 record overall.

Agnes Scott's defense held firm in the first half despite facing 12 shots. Abby Ackerson (Hoover, Ala.) made eight saves in net for the Scotties during the opening 45.

However, things turned in a tough way for the Scotties to begin the second half. Brevard scored three times in a matter of four minutes with long services into the 18 that were finished off by Tornados. With a game changing from scoreless to a multi-score deficit in a blink of an eye, Agnes Scott was forced to scrap back. The Scotties outshot their hosts in the second half, but were unable to put the ball in their net.

Brevard added a late goal on an own goal in the 79th minute to cap off the scoring. They led in shots 17-12, but 12-3 in attempts on net.
