Tennis Team Recognized as ITA All-Academic

TEMPE, Ariz. - The Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced its 2016 Academic Awards on Thursday, July 21, 2016.  For the ninth-consecutive year, Agnes Scott College earend their place amongst the top academic programs in the country.  The team achieved a 3.343 GPA for the 2015-16 Academic Year to earn their award.

Individually, three Scotties were named as ITA Scholar-Athletes, as Magdalena Wimmler, Jumana Master, and Anling Kaplan all received recognition for their achievements on the court as well as in the classroom.

"I am extremely proud of the work our team puts in during the year," commented head coach T.J. Greggs. "We stress academic excellence to our teams here at Agnes Scott, and I am thrilled that our tennis team was once again able to show that we practice what we preach."

The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.200 or above. All varsity letter winners are factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year. In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status, a player must meet the following criteria: 1) be a varsity letter winner, 2) have a GPA of at least 3.50 for the current academic year, and 3) have been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters.
