DECATUR, Ga. - The Agnes Scott College volleyball team suffered their seventh consecutive loss after starting the season with a 6-4 record, falling to future USA South opponent, Piedmont College, in straight sets (25-17, 25-20, 25-19). Anna Tomkins led the Scotties with 16 assists and 11 digs in the loss.
Offensively, the Scotties were led by Paige Heck and Bonnie Derks, who had 9 and 8 kills, respectively, on the evening. Heck and Briana Vannoy each also served up three aces apiece for the Scotties (6-11). The Lions (14-10) were led by Mallory Leary, who had 10 kills in only 15 attack attempts, for an extraordinary .667 hitting percentage.
The team will look to rebound on Saturday, October 17, as they host Rust College at 1:00 p.m. Live video will be available for the game on the Agnes Scott College athletics website.
