DECATUR, Ga. - The Agnes Scott College volleyball team snapped their seven-match losing streak in emphatic fashion today at home, rolling off the first 11 points en route to a route of Rust College (0-11). The Scotties (7-11) were led by first-year hitter Morgan Pearson, who finished the match with 8 kills to lead all players. The Scotties won the match, 3-0 (25-5, 25-10, 25-7).
In the first set, sophomore setter Anna Tomkins continued her strong season from behind the service line, rattling off 11 points from behind the line to start the match, including 6 of her match-high 10 aces on the day. She also added 22 assists. In addition to Pearson, Bonnie Derks had 7 kills, and Paige Heck finished with 6 kills. The Scotties finished with 24 aces as a team.
The Scotties will look to continue their winning ways on Tuesday, October 20, as they host LaGrange College at 6:30 p.m.
