FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.—Senior Resa Knott (Atlanta, Ga.) was named to the USA South West Division Second Team as announced by the league office on Thursday afternoon. The awards were voted on by the divisional coaches earlier in the week after the regular season concluded this past weekend.
Knott becomes the first Agnes Scott volleyball player to be named to a USA South team after the school became full members before the 2016 season.
She led the Scotties this season with 2.21 kills per set for a total of 241 for the season. Knott's biggest contribution to the Scotties though was her consistency on the attack. Knott made the most of her opportunities to the tune of a .274 hitting percentage, good enough for seventh in the entire conference and first in the West Division.
Knott also finished near the top of the conference in points per set due in part to adding 49 total blocks on the year. Her 15 solo blocks were sixth in the West Division, which included being behind teammate Alexis Smith (Memphis, Tenn.), who finished third with 18.
The graduating player finishes two years in a Scottie uniform with 378 kills and a .250 career hitting percentage.
Fellow senior Paige LaMore (Manteno, Ill.) was named Agnes Scott's All-Sportsmanship team member after being a selfless leader for the team both on and off the court.
