The Agnes Scott cross country team competed in their second meet of the year this morning at the Jaguar Invitational hosted by Augusta Regents University at Fort Gordon.
Agnes Scott was the only Division III college in the meet among 13 Division II universities. Every member of the team saw a significant improvement since the first meet two weeks ago. Junior Giulia Ghezzi knocked three minutes off of her 6 km time with a 29:11. First-year Yang Hong dropped two minutes off her 6 km best with a 34:14. Junior Elisabeth Taylor also saw a remarkable improvement with a 34:55, five minutes better than two weeks ago. Running in her first race for Agnes Scott, junior Lizzie Booher was the fourth Scottie to cross the finish line with a time of 35:51. Rounding out the top five for Agnes Scott was junior Farida Abudulai with the most significant improvement over the past two weeks, dropping her time by almost six minutes from a 41:48 to 36:05. And sophomore Karmen Williams was not far behind with a five and a half minute improvement and a finishing time of 36:17.
The Agnes Scott cross country team will be back in action next Saturday at the University of North Georgia in Gainesville at 8:15 a.m.
