BEAUFORT, S.C. - The first season under the tutelage of head coach Clinton Bell came to a close this weekend, as the Agnes Scott College cross country team ended the season with a bang, as all seven runners finished with personal bests, and the team finished 25th out of 28 teams, led by Faridah Nalunkuuma, who crossed the finish line in 21:43.99. The time was a 3:37 improvement over her previous best 5k time, established at the first meet of the season.
"Our team has worked so hard this year," indicated Bell, "and it's always rewarding when your team performs their best at the end."
Finishing closely behind Nalunkuuma was teammate Honorine Rouiller, who crossed in 21:46.58, followed by Allyssa Willis in 22:03 (1:21 improvement), Avery Moore in 24:02 (0:49 improvement), Karolina Klimczak in 24:02 (1:41 improvement), Casey Arnold in 26:51 (2:08 improvement) and Barbara Branson in 28:02 (2:53 improvement).
"This is a great place to leave off heading into next season," continued Bell. "We will be returning a lot of runners who now have experience and will know what it takes to keep improving as we move into the USA South Conference next season."
The race marked the final races for Klimczak, Arnold and Rouiller.
